Els
School Psychologist & Counselor
Hi, I’m Els! I am an educational psychologist and counselor. I was born and raised in Belgium
and currently live in Germany.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology and Educational Sciences, along with a teaching qualification. I have over 20 years of experience and worked in various roles, including educational psychologist, counselor, special education specialist, and teacher. I am deeply passionate about promoting well-being, fostering inclusion, and empowering every child to reach their full potential.
My expertise lies in supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD, and executive functioning challenges. I integrate principles of cognitive-behavioural and solution-focused therapy to provide effective, practical, and compassionate support. I am a certified HAPPY coach, trained by Peter Vermeulen (Autism in Context).
Working as a therapist and a learning support teacher in an international IB school has given me
unique insights into the challenges faced by neurodivergent students, their families, and their teachers in multicultural environments. I understand the cognitive, emotional, and social factors that influence learning and development, allowing me to design sessions that are individualized and impactful.
Above all, I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where all students feel valued, understood, and inspired to thrive. I am dedicated to equipping students, families, and educators with the tools and strategies needed to foster confidence, growth and resilience.
I am from Belgium and speak English, German and Dutch.
