Ting-Yi
Counselor
Hello! I’m Ting-Yi! I also go by Zoe. I hold an M.A. and an M. Ed in counseling psychology from Columbia University and the New York State School Counselor license. In 2016, I came back to Taiwan with the goal of serving expats in Taiwan and I have been providing professional mental health service as a certificated counselor since then. In the past few years, I have been working with international and local students and faculties at school settings. Individual counseling is my main focus at work, yet I also work collaboratively key staff and external support specialists to assist my students in achieving their academic goals and personal growth.
My holistic approach comes from my belief in seeing each person as a whole. I take into consideration every aspect that plays a role in one’s life; from individual level to systematic level. During the session, I always strive to empower my clients through exploring and highlighting their strengths as well as finding and creating individualized coping strategies that help them deal with the difficulties they are facing.
Areas of interest include: multicultural counseling, culture adjustment issue, self-exploration, emotion exploration and regulation (such as depression and anxiety), stress management, interpersonal relationship issue, career exploration.
I am from Taiwan and I speak Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English.
